Fall has arrived

Well my favorite time of the year is here.... My birthday and Fall!!! I love the colors outdoors, the cool crisp air in the morning, and the smell of leaves!!!

This weekend is my birthday and my husband and I are going to his grandparents on Saturday to celebrate his grandfather's 90th birthday. Sunday we will celebrate my birthday and Monday is our 2nd anniversary.... We are going to dinner at the place where we had our wedding reception... It's a great Italian Rest.

Next week I have vacation. I am going to do nothing... of course that won't happen.....I can't just sit and do nothing.. I will probably clean and re-arrange furniture, have some girlfriend lunches etc!! I'm excited to have off on Halloween because that will give me time to carve our pumpkins!! Pictures will follow of course!

Big poker party the day after Halloween.... Will Gloria re-claim winning status.... Will everyone win their dollars bills back from Gloria.... Will Freddy actually move to Canada??? These questions and more will be answered next week!!

I do have one movie review for you....."Flushed Away" It's an animated truly funny movie.... We give it 4 out of 5 stars!!! For young and old............

First Day of Fall

Haven't been on reporting anything lately. Not much happening lately...Weather has been terrific. Got the garden torn down just in time for IKE to blow by and mess up the yard!!

The only plants left in the garden are beans... Now if Bret would quit eating them off the vine we might be able to pick them for supper one night!!

Fall is hear and it's my favorite time of year... I can't express how I love the fall foliage. I love the smell of Fall, the cool temps, and of course.......HALLOWEEN!!! I can't get enough Halloweeness!! (Is that even a word) I have the yard almost done with decorations... I made the coolest candy corn for the yard. Bret sawed candy corn shapes out of the plastic wood and I painted them... I will post a picture of the yard soon.

I have tried a new Mac n Cheese recipe which I will post and tonight I am making a Chicken and Wild Rice soup. Let you know how that comes out.

The Dark Knight

Well this past labor day weekend, Bret and I went to see "The Dark Knight". We give this movie two thumbs up. To us it was the best Batman movie yet!!

Labor Day has come and gone and now I am looking forward to Autumn... my favorite time of year.... I love the changing of the leaves....and "HALLOWEEN"!! I can not wait to wear my witch pendant that Bret got me for my birthday last year..... (pictured below) Isn't it great.

We had a poker party recently... It was so great to have all my friends and family over again for poker night. Before I was married we used to play every month and it's a blast! We play games like.... "Screw your nieghbor", "Zip", "In Between", 99, and LCR. Of course money is involved and alcohol.

Kawasaki Krazy

It started a few months ago with the gas price craze. My husbands mentions that we should get scooters... why? because gas is so expesive. Now we have upgraded to HIM getting a full-blown motorcycle.
This does NOT sit well with me. We are just starting out our marriage and we need so many things... like a house for one! Not to mention the danger of a motorcycle and the crazy people that don't pay attention to them.
I have so much built up rage on this subject you can't even imagine. The thing is no matter how I feel on this issue my husband has informed me that he IS getting one.
This certainly is going to ROCK the marriage!!

Gone in 60 Seconds

Last night Bret was working on fixing his muffler and also helping the next door neighbor cut some wood. I put a pizza in the oven and Bret and Ron were going to eat on the patio. Bret carried out some pizza on plates and no one was paying attention to Wilma ( the dog) so she quickly helped her self to Ron's pizza. "Gone in 60 seconds"

Now everyone in my family knows that when you are going to leave your food un-attended you say "Cover me" and someone will watch your plate. Poor Ron, he just didn't know the rules.

Holiday is Over

Well July 4th has come and gone. Our weekend was spectacular!! Weather was great! Three day weekends are always welcome. We are lucky enough to view a great fireworks show from our patio in the backyard. My uncle brought a movie for us to watch.... "The Mist" by Steven King. Let me just say this.......It had the stupidest ending I ever saw.

Now as for the garden this week..... Well I spotted an actual deer in my yard the other morning. I went running with my flip-flops to scare her away. I didn't notice any vegetables eaten but I think she is definately eating the apples on the apple tree.

Last night Bret took me out to dinner.... Red Lobster... Yum!! We have decided to minimize our eating out so we can save money. We just recently laid off some workers where I work. The economy is soooo bad and our business is slow lately. I feel so bad for my employees in our factory. We haven't laid off people in over 40 years. Hopefully this lay-off is temporary. Maybe a week or two.

Movie Review

Ok, well I just wasted about an hour and a half of my life watching an independent film called "Margot at the wedding". It starred Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Black.... All I can say is "WEIRD"!! Bret made it through the first 2 minutes then he made me change movies. The next night I sat by myself and made it a point to give the movie another try and watched the whole thing....

This weeks movies will be "The Bucket List", "The Kite Runner" and "No Reservations"

Hobbies

One of my hobbies is making jewelry (for myself). I love to wear things that I created. I have two wonderful lampwork bead artists that I order things from. They are Palmtree Queen and Torch by Night! These two girls do awesome work. I have put their links on my favorite sites. Please check them out. I will post a few pictures of what I made with their beads when I get a chance!!

We have been getting lots of rain, which means what??.... yes, weeds in the garden. I have decided to put newspaper between the rows so their are no weeds. This way I can just till the paper in the soil at the end of the season.

My husband took me out Tuesday night for dinner and a movie... We went to see the HULK... It was really good. Second to IRON MAN though... Then we tried this new Carribbean restaurant called "VHOODA". The food was average but the outdoor bar was fabulous. It had carribbean music and great decor.

Knee High by July

Well this past weekends rain certainly made everything in the garden shoot up.... Our corn is past knee-high...
I am in the process of putting in an herb garden. I have cilantro, parsley, chives, oregano, sweet basil and dill already in. My husband cut faux wood pcs. for me and I am going to paint them up to label the pots. My harb garden pots surround a potted mum ("The Love Mum"). When I first met Bret he bought it for me and I have been nuturing it ever since and it comes up every year!!!

The movie of the weekend ended up being "Mad Money".... Not a bad rental.... 4 out of 5 stars.

Don't ask me why I name it that... It sounded good at the time.. Maybe in a few weeks I will change the name with my moods!!

It's Friday hooray! That means payday! I love money..... It's amazing how a piece of germy old paper can get you things.

Today my life is pretty uneventful.... Friday is usually movie night. This weeks pic...... drum roll please!!!!!!!! ..................... "The Hulk". Last movie was "Indian Jones" ... two thumbs DOWN :(.
